Fundamentally, conservancies are about doing something in your own area or community. A conservancy is the entry-level to community-based conservation.
To beautify, improve, promote and protect the acres of parkland in Bay Ridge, from the Verrazano Bridge to and including Owl’s Head Park, for the enjoyment of the public, by coordinating the efforts of government agencies and volunteers and securing public and private funding.
Shore Road Parks are an urban oasis of 90.25 acres located in the heart of Bay Ridge Brooklyn. From and including scenic Owl's Head Park to the historic John Paul Jones Park, Shore Road Parks creates a beautiful vista for ships entering and leaving the New York harbor. The Narrows Botanical Gardens located at 69th street and the Shore Road Gardens located at 90th street are community created gardens that enhance the park. Numerous ball fields, play grounds and a dog run complete the park and draw thousands of individuals and families each week.
